I am Emily Morrison

I'm Emily Morrison, a 25 year-old student filmmaker based in Ottawa, Canada. After completing my Masters degree in Film Studies, I decided it was time to start making films. Splitting my time between being a 16mm projectionist at Carleton University and trying my hand at filmmaking at Algonquin College, I've discovered a deep love for filmmaking that began with my unhealthy obsession with Francois Truffaut. Thankfully, my love for film has only grown deeper through making these films.

My skills include directing, editing, and cinematography, working closely with software such a Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Audition. In addition to this, I am proficient with Sony FX9's and FX3's, grip and electric work, locations management, producing, and writing. In addition to set work, I am a self-trained 16mm projectionist, employed by Carleton University for two years to project, clean, and catalogue their expansive 16mm film collection.

My documentary, "All Play No Work: A Story of Dan Sexton" is my most successful film, airing on WPBS on December 16th, 2023. You can watch it here on my website for free.
